Built my own stand for 70 gallon main and 30 gallon refugium. Sorry about the background noise.

Challenges:

1. Make sure the stand and wheels will support over 100 gallons aka over 800 pounds with sand, rock, etc.

2. No drilling. Using an idea I had from seeing a physics experiment I designed piping that auto siphons down to the refuge. My dad, rest his soul, a physics professor said, "That should work." so I went ahead and did it.

3. Prevent overflow and allow for power outages. I have a fill switch that turns off if the sump gets emptied where the pump would pass out or at least start shooting bubbles up top.

4. do it all for under $500, meaning wood scrap from prior projects, left over pipes I had from other projects

5. Make it prettier cuz, yeah

The side view has the pipes available for view.

Since then its had some improvements added.

It's been crazy but worth the labor. It's been 10 months since water was added and working. It still needs lights for coral.

welcome to reef2reef!
like what you did with the conch shells, also beautiful clownfish pair you got there!

Beautiful set up; both in and around the tank.

That single stand-alone white panel on the right is an elegant solution… I’ve been staring at the same buckets in my living room for FOUR YEARS. This forum is great for new ideas.

Thanks! It was a temporary fix while I update my QT tank,

Thank you! The conch shells were found at my local beaches after hurricanes. I've thought pulling the shells during snorkel dives was anti-ocean but when the sea spits them up on shore they're gifts. Even so, to ease whatever thieving guilt I may have I want to make them out of ceramic. Like the other sculptured pieces that I made and have in my tank that are made of "reef-safe" ceramic.

That photo of Frank and Sammy is my favorite. Rhett was looking good but was hiding below them :

Awesome!!!
If you think the parents may eat the eggs then you can remove them but make sure the eggs have a bubbler under them for proper oxygenation, they can be fed live rotifers at their first stages of life
