I was wondering if anyone has any info on the Avast Maine Peg leg skimmer? I was able to get a used one for cheap and I am looking for info or tips and tricks on how to tune it properly. Mainly I guess is what would a good water depth be for it? The one I have looks like the one pictured below.

I have the dual pump version. Its a beast. I run mine in 9 inches of water. There us a rubber plug that you can remove if you want to run it deeper than 9 inches. It did take mine about 5 days to finally settle down. The foam would fill the collection cup up in a matter if minutes at first. I just ran a drain tube to let the water that filled the cup jyst drain back into the sump. After the 5 days the foam settled and it skims my 180 like crazy.

It’s a small plug with a hole in it that helps regulate the water level for deeper depths. Pretty cheap replacement from avast or probably can find one at a hardware store. I ran mine at 10” in one sump and 9” in another. Worked fine at both.
