Hi all, my first post here. Recently picked up two baby clowns; both from the same tank at my LFS. My tank isn't super big, so if I can keep them alive for a few years I fully intend on rehoming them when they outgrow my tank. They are well past the rotifer eating stage; I presume they are at least 1-2 months old. They eat protein pellets which isn't preferred because they spike my phosphates very quickly, and they will spit out (fresh) mysis when I try feeding them it. I just added some tigger pods to my tank and they went crazy for them. What foods should I purchase to try and get them to accept it? Assuming protein pellets are not a nutritious diet alone. Advice needed, thanks.

Pics of the pups please!

Sometimes fish will eat something, spit it out, eat it again. They are likely getting some of the mysis, in my non-expert opinion.

What size tank and what species of Clown? I think both would help if you need advice :-)

I'll post pics tomorrow, they are sleeping right now. They are regular oscellaris clowns. I have a ten gallon cube, hence my emphasis to rehome them when they get too big. I really needed some fish as my tank has been fishless for about five months since my dragonet passed. I am fully prepared to get flack for putting two clowns in a ten g cube, but I know they do better in pairs, and I would never put two or let alone one adult in such a small tank. I'll either rehome them at my local LFS or give them to my boss.

Pellet foods are the most nutritional food you can offer, much healthier than mysis. They are made with vitamins and supplements and everything your fish needs to be healthy.

Personally I like feeding reef frenzy to my fish, fish love this stuff and its very healthy natural food for them since its made out of various seafoods.
