Baby Conch Fused to Adult?!?

Hey everybody!

I just wanted to share this and see if any of you have seen anything like this. A couple months ago I brought home a tiger conch and noticed it had a baby conch attached to the back of it. Since then, it has grown, but not moved, as if its shell os fused to the adult’s. It also appears to be a different kind of conch all together.

Pretty wild! You can see it in the attached video. It was hard to focus on him that zoomed in.

Looks like a limpet perhaps, take a look at the pictures in this thread:

I can’t see the video on my phone, but - based on the description of fused - probably either a hoof snail or a slipper limpet.

Edit: Seeing the video now - yeah, most likely a hoof snail; harmless CUC member that rides around on snails or hermit crabs.
