Back in the Reef game 20 years removed.

Getting right into it.

Things I have:
(2) gen 4 XR15 Radions
Vertex omega 200 skimmer
Vertex media reactor
Vertex sump

Tank I want:
72x30x20 Crystal Dynamics low iron glass rimless

in tank flow
powerheads
2 vortech mp60’s mid sides for cross flow
2 vortech mp40’s
behind rocks and in front to move detritus on bare bottom of tank (no sand bed)

not sure if I should add 2 eotech xr30’s g5 blues and another Xr15 g5

or 3 XR 15’s

also need to add auto top off and I need to go to school about dosing.

I want to load the tank with acropora (lots of staghorns) tableand some shelving montiporas in the middle of the tank.

For rock structure, I like the open layout with pedastool as and tons of room for flow. Maybe a couple large structures with some smaller mounts in the middle for the montiporas.

Bio load I was thinking
blue tang
Purple tang
Achilles tang
Sohal tang (last) maybe
Lyretail anthias (5)
Multiple wrasses for critter control
Longnose Butterfly (for aptasia)

normal scarlet and blue legged crabs for cleanup as well as snails.

What am I missing? Maybe give me some opinions on the dosing and lights? Should I go taller on the tank because og

To add timeline in my head is.

set up tank and run with lights off no fish for 60 days.

60 days copapods and lights go on. Add anthias

90 days if water paremeters look good add most passive tangs.

120 days add montiporas and some more fish.

150 days if water parameters are good start adding first sticks.

no plan past 150’days

Please procure live rock. There’s some Australian stuff floating around which I like. You can also source pieces out of FL. Dry rock is a nonstarter for me these days.

I think the XR15 will be insufficient. I’d go with the XR30 and test with a PAR meter. It’s also worthwhile to take a look at ATI’s LED solution if you like LED. I haven’t used them but likely will.

I also think 20” may be short.
