BackbayReef’s 550gal: angels, tangs, and acros!

Some random pics during feeding this morning. The French Angel is massive now.

Surprisingly -- all my torches are still alive and angels aren't nipping them! I randomly lost some hammers recently though.
Sounds like you need more.... OC show braugh... This Sunday... I will even super inflate the price for your cheap 屁股

lol - still jet lagged. Would love to go check out your booth but we’ll be hosting a FIFA World Cup party this weekend so can’t make it.

I actually got plenty of corals from the frag tank but been too busy (ok, lazy) to mount them. Another excuse, I still haven’t mounted my new Radions (again, too lazy) — still sitting on the shelf for the last 8mos!!! I got issues…

I got a frag of a rainbow monti 2 months ago - it’s starting to spread now! Would be cool to see this guy cover the rockwork. However, I might have a feeling that I will regret this later? ;)

3:46AM, to be precise.

To make a very long story very short; in relation to how much normal people sleep, I have never slept much.
Guess you can sleep when you die? ;)

No doubt!

Speaking of sleep, the morning rolls around pretty quickly so I'm signing off.

Good to see you posting regularly again.

Switching over from 2-part BRS dosing to CaRx. I was dosing 120mL of soda ash so it’s time to let the big Reef Octopus do its magic. Alk got up to 10dKH since I forgot to set the threshold to kill CO2 at 9dKH — Dooh! Anyway, just letting things settle down to 8’ish before resuming.

Effluent is 20mL/min via the Kamoer.

FYI - every couple of months, the ORP probe in the sump would drift higher due to detritus? I've dipped it in vinegar and brushed the tips -- all good again. Most reefers don't care about ORP but it's important to me: I run a sulfur denitrator and ozone!

I haven’t been here for a while. The tank is looking great and love the angels. Hopefully they continue behaving and not nip on your corals.

You’re not alone on ORP. I also follow my readings for both ozone and when it drops suddenly.

How often do you replace the cell on your ozone?

Geez - I have not done it since it was installed a year ago? The unit runs an hour every night at 30%. I’ve been replacing the air dryer media every few months when it runs color though.

I do believe it is recommended to change them "every 1 to 2 years." I get a kick out of the idea that the recommended time change can be up to 100% different.
