So I'm restarting my tank. I'm considering dosing a bacterial based product like "Vibrant" to keep algae from becoming an issue while the tank matures. I'd be interested on everyone's thoughts on this plan. What do you think?

You'll get a lot of differing opinions. I'll share my personal thoughts:
I used it within the first couple of months of my tank being established regularly for a few months and I skipped the ugly stage. Pretty happy with the results.
I stopped using it over time (I kinda just forgot to use it) and stopped using it since as I felt like I didn't need it anymore.
