I’m not sure if others have had similar experiences, but I’ve had repeated issues with Reef Cleaners. They have consistently mishandled my orders and failed to provide proper refunds.

I’ve placed multiple orders for clean-up crews (CUC) that included emerald or pitho crabs, and on more than one occasion, the crabs were missing from my shipment. The issue with their refund policy is that while they may reimburse the cost of the crabs (around $20), they do not refund the shipping fee. Since my total order typically exceeds $60, I end up losing money when I have to reorder just to get what was originally missing. I never wanted or requested a refund, I just wanted the cabs.

Most recently, after another mistake with my order, I received the following response:

"I will refund the order now. Sorry, we will not be able to ship to your location again. I think it is being intercepted by San Diego County and held—we got a letter from them about that in the past. I will refund the order now."

Since then, they have stopped responding to my emails, and no refund was ever issued. It seems as though I’ve been "banned" from ordering from them, which is disappointing, as they were once my go-to source for CUC.

Has anyone else experienced this with Reef Cleaners?

Sorry again about this. I will mail you the letter from them, and try to remove those zip codes from our shipping form. I apologize again.

John has done a tremendous job at making the situation right. He has also offered to try and clear things up with my county and ship the crabs free of cost. I truly appreciate his kindness and patience! I will be ordering (snails at least) again from them in the future.
