Hi all, I was comparing the flow rate from the return pump on my new tank to the flow on my current setup, and the new one seems to be producing significantly less flow. The tank is a Waterbox 90.3 that I bought used, and the return pump is a DCP-5000, which is rated at approximately 850–1450 GPH. I’ve included a video for reference.

Yea that looks approx like 500 GPH. Pump states it can go to (around 1300-1450 GPH).
Does the pumps controller cause an increase or decrease in the flow?

Hi, yes it does. That video is with the pump at max power, and when I decrease the setting, the flow drops significantly and shoots out much less water.

I'd say you have faulty pump. Or the particular manufacture is terrible at rating the flow of their products.
Thank you, will get on replacing it asap

How many 90s? What is the head height?

You can take almost any return pump on the market and cut the rated flow in half. By the time you add a few restrictions, it kills the output

You don’t need more than 3x flow through the sump though so 500gph is likely more than enough
