Another year, another tank! This tank has to be my last upgrade for quite some time so I have designed and set it up as such.

The Equipment:
Tank: NYOS Opus G2 440
Stand: NYOS Slim Line in Basalt Grey with upgraded hinges
Sump: NYOS sump included with package
Lighting: Giesemann Spectra (250w on DIY magnetic ballasts)
ATO reservoir: 6 gallons (included with the tank package)
ATO: Tunze Osmolator 3
Powerheads: Tunze Orca 6075 and Orca 6105
Return Pump: Sicce SDC 6.0
Heater: 300w on Aqua Logic controller
Skimmer: Adaptive Reef A6 DC200
ATS: Santa Monica Surf2
Dosing: NYOS 2 part
Salt: NYOS, ESV, TM Pro, whatever salt is on sale from my top 5
Controller: Apex A3 Pro
Power Center: EB832 and EB4
Rock: CaribSea arches
Sand: TBS Ultra Live Sand mixed with special grade

Where did you get your Spectra? I emailed Geisemann directly and am going to have one shipped. Being a 4foot tank, dual 250s will be perfect over that!!

It’s the 36” version. I found a used one on here from tgbaby. I couldn’t believe my luck he still had it after 4 years.

I don’t have the halide ballasts built yet as I want M80 magnetic to run the Radium bulbs. I have most of the components but need to build the ballasts still. Hopefully this weekend.

I would LOVE to find a Geisemann in the States. Shipping from Germany is going to be pricey, but worth it! I still have a 36" dual Reefbrite I've been hanging on to, but those Spectra are just nice to look at! LOL

I had a super old Current Nova T5 I planned to run over this tank so I was searching Giesemann T5 bulb combos and his FS thread popped up. I was like no way! Reached out and we made a deal. This new tank is in a main area of my home so aesthetics are super important

My LFS has a brand new Coralife 48” 250w DE fixture I’m picking up tonight. It has the old PC bulbs but would be super easy to swap to LED bars to replace those. Looks to me that Coralife basically copied the Giesemann design.

It’s old. Been sitting on the shelf completely unopened for 12-15 years at least. I just picked it up and am going to test the ballasts tonight. My car is full of ballasts and fixtures that I need to clean up and test now.

They quoted me $75 shipping for a 36" to the states. Very fair.

There are a TON of 150w electronic Coralife ballasts. There’s also a couple old PFO ballasts but I’m trying to confirm what wattage and model they are

Me too. I think the 4 footer is new so they may have a 5 footer in the works
