I just realized I’ve never really paid attention to the badges. Are they like girl/boy scout badges? What are the requirements for obtaining them?

It just depends, most of them are tied to either a promotion (secret Santa, partner etc.) , being part of a certain club, or doing specific things on the site and you will receive them accordingly

At one point I saw a “Mediocrity” badge made in joking about not being able to get a “excellence” badge. The person who had it no longer does, so I’m guessing they removed it.
That was the only badge I wanted.

I can't even manage "Not Terrible" all of the time. Sometimes I'm like "I need to clean this up and change this out or something bad's gonna happen". Two weeks later, something bad happens and I'm facepalming...
