Why is a bagel not sliced all the way through? I don't feel like I should have to finish the job they started at the bakery. Look at a hamburger bun and do it the same way!

I guess so they don't have to fish out a top and bottom at the bakery :)

Everything bagles are the best

Bagels are cut, with a completely different type of machine, than any other bread product. The cutter has 2 blades, which cut through, from each side. To keep the blades from coming in contact with one another, wearing the blades down quickly, the blades stop, just short of center, leaving a small area uncut.

The ingredients, that Bagels are made of, also make them dry up faster than other bread products. Keeping them tightly in contact with each other keeps them "fresh" longer.

But why do that? Slice it like a hamburger bun.

Deep down bagels just wanna be doughnuts anyway.

Hamburger buns aren't actually sliced. Each side is baked, with a thin divider between the two. They're already separate.

Bagels must be cooked, whole, because they're actually boiled, before they're baked, at least the REAL Bagels are...lol.

Uh uh! Next you'll be telling me a loaf of bread is not sliced, just 20 pieces baked and fitted together so that every crease and crack lines up! :what:

I'd rather have to cut a bagel open than deal with a hot dog bun that fell apart because they sliced it too far.
