Thats weird I was able to calibrate mine.

I’ve put the same probe into the Milwaukee and it read 85, across 2 different tanks so pretty sure my Orp is not that low.

Thanks for sharing that. They do not seem to be common these days so always nice to see them. Also open swimming like that gives a great perspective on their potential size.

Perhaps the Hydros is easier? Anyhoo — will see how things go this Thursday. I’m going to run tonight for 5min — shouldn’t hurt right?

So do you run at full blast for a few hours or running 24/7 at low dosage? Understand that the air dryer media will be exhausted sooner with the latter.

Edit: all done. Air dryer will kick in along with O3. No doubt that I’ll need to run this several hours a day to be effective.

If your water isnt crystal clear run it for 1 hour on lowest setting

Frag Tank - the AquaMaxx T3 CaRx was driving me nuts! It had too much air bubbles inside the reactor. Well, after an hour or so of tilting it, I think I finally figured it out. The “solution” was to place a piece of plastic underneath the reactor (no longer visible) to tilt water toward the effluent side - no more air bubbles! ;)

I think that this was a design flaw — they should have made the effluent side a little bit lower into the water chamber to suck out all the air.

Anyway, hope that this will help someone. I’m slow — I know!

Ozone update: water is still not clear yet. I run one hour at night at level3. Will run 2hrs going fwd. I also ran an hour/two during the day to check the system. The ORP probe will arrive tomorrow hence my hesitation to increase the runtime & ozone strength.

I would run in 1-hour segments and run at the lowest setting. Without an ORP probe using ozone is potentially disastrous. Go slow it will clear eventually. You dont want to raise the ORP too rapidly.

Looks like the tank is finally stable. I’ve placed some hardy SPS frags to test. CaRx on the 450g is working well to keep alk around 8.75dKH, will try to level off at 8.5 though.

Hmm - it’s a huge body of water and I’m doubting that it will make a dent into oxidation. I’ll throttle back to an hour tonight then.

My knowledge is outdated but the 'old' way to do this is to run at low settings for a longer duration to reach the desired level. Don't rush it your probe will be there tomorrow and you will have visibility to the actual level BUT the probe can take up to a week to stabilize. In the meantime I would run it on low for an hour wait two hours and repeat.

So this is frustrating or I’m a complete idiot! The old ORP probe was reading 99 on both the Apex and Milwaukee. I bought another Milwaukee probe figuring the old one was bad — guess what? The new one is showing 15 and 14, Apex and Milwaukee, respectively.

These Milwaukee probes are crap?!$&. What brand do you use?
