I have a 40 gallon breeder, which is 36"x18"x17". I have a snowflake eel, which was pretty small when I got him. He was about 9" in length when I got him about 7-8 months ago. Now he's 12" long, so he's definitely growing. Eventually I know he'll outgrow this tank and I'll either have to upgrade or rehome him. Its a perfect size for him now though. For filtration I have a Reef Octopus 110 skimmer and a reactor running biopellets. I also have a small refugium in my sump with some macroalgaes. The predator fish are pretty heavy on the bioload, so I try to keep up with doing 10 gallon water changes once a week. What size tank and how long is yours also what fultratuon do u use for an idea? thanks
Oh right, its a zebra. For some reason I spaced and was thinking it was a snowflake eel.@JadeM Since you have a 75 I would watch his size because zebra moray eels get 5 feet long the eel would be a little cramped in a 75. Sorry to burst your bubble[emoji20]. But on the bright side if you get him when he is under 1 foot you should have 3-4 years before he needs a bigger tank[emoji3]
No problem! I actually go to a local fish market and pick up a variety of fresh seafood and chop it all into chunks. I mix it all together and then divvy it up into ice cube trays and freeze it to make my own cubes. Then I can thaw one at a time to have a nice variety of food at each feeding. I just made a new batch yesterday evening so I have some photos. Here's the seafood I bought and it all chopped up before mixing it and freezing it.

I definitely think its a good way to get a healthy variety for not too much money! I've never heard of Mazuri shark and ray gel. What are those?I do the seafood market variety pack too. I also use Mazuri shark and ray gel formula. Lots of the frozen foods we use are missing vitamins and minerals, especially Iodine. I figure this is a great way to supplement the missing stuff.
Whats at the bottom right?
It was a good price, so I figured clam would be something good to throw into my mix. Thanks for the information on the vitamin gel. So you make it like jello and then you mix it into your frozen seafood blend? Or do you just feed it separately. I wonder if my lionfish would go for a gel food. I'll have to look into this more! It's a cool looking clam. Mazuri is a vitamin company which a bunch of aquariums use. I use the shark and ray formula because I bought it for my sharks and rays. I just checked out the website and it seems they make it for fish. I am not sure how long that has been going on for. You make it like jello.

Thanks for the info! I may just have to give this a try in my next food blend. Seems like a good option for vitamins. You can mix it with other foods or use the gel only. If your lion eats frozen then it should eat this.
