Friends,

We are travelling to Bali, Indonesia sometime in June/July timeframe. Would love to hear from anyone local or someone who have been to Bali.....what is a good location to stay (Nosa Dua area vs Kuta vs jimabaran or any smaller island).

Also, if you would recommend any specific hotels and where would be a good spot for snorkeling and scuba diving.

Depending on your style of holiday, kuta have easy access to restaurants shopping etc, but the beach is more of an activity beach and not really snorkelling friendly.
For nusa dua ive always stayed at nikko (now hilton). Its kinda isolated from other hotels in Nusa dua but i like the 'privacy' and u can snorkel right off the beach tho the currents are strong at times. But for serious divers Amed is usually the area of choice to stay.

We stayed in Kuta about a year and a half ago... Pretty packed... Not as isolated as you'd think. We used Aqua Marine to go scuba diving and they took us to northwest Bali. Great company. Made it super easy. They pick you up and drop you off from wherever you're staying. We used an Airbnb and they were great. Fresh cooked breakfast every morning... Driver took us island the island for some sights and the famous "crappy" coffee . We also stayed at the Ayana Resort a few nights.... Insanely nice place. Have a drink at the rock bar!!!
