Apologies if this has been covered a million times.

I want to go bare bottom in my acrylic tank. Do I need to use ABS panels?

Tank will sit fully supported on 3/4 plywood on the stand as required for acrylic tanks so not really worried about rock colapse.

Acrylic bottom already has sand colored backer/paper still installed so it has a decent color already.

Thoughts?

I ran bare bottom fine without ABS and used plywood as you have

Not sure why you would want abs at all. Color? As long as the bottom is supported by a full deck stand you are fine structurally.
