Does a bare bottom observation tank need to cycle? It’s strictly to observe corals before placing them into my display. I added so neonitro and neophos to add some nutrients to the tank as well.

No, corals don't excrete as much ammonia as fish, for example, and coral can uptake ammonia from the water, so I would add them without a cycle.
