Basement ATO Pump

I'm looking for an ATO that can be in my basement and pump water up to my tank (around 15ft) when needed. Appreciate the help!

I have a large reservoir already, just need the means to get the water where it needs to go :)

Peristaltic pumps can definitely move low volumes of water with high head pressures like that. You might look into a dosing pump.

The other thing you might be able to do, depending on the size of the reservoir and your basement is mount the reservoir up off the floor so there is less head height. The apex PMUP has a max head pressure of 13 feet, so if you can raise your reservoir a bit that might be an option for you too (you can get the PMUP with an AC adapter, so it doesn’t require an apex if you don’t have one)

I have an apex, but my reservoir is 22gal. I was thinking about a dosing pump and just measuring my evaporation.

22 gallons would definitely be possible to raise on a platform or something if you wanted to go that route, but a dosing pump would work too.

I would definitely use a float switch to control it though... trying to measure your evaporation and match it is just going to be an exercise in frustration... the evaporation rate will change from day to day and month to month as the humidity level in the air changes. You’ll need to be constantly changing and adjusting it and it may wind up being more work than just topping off manually has been.

I got this guy. Easily pumps water from the basement. Good flow rates also. I use a cheap 12vDC wall wart from some random thing to power it off of. The wall wart is plugged into my apex.

This is pretty much my setup. I use a PMUP in the basement in RODI container. My setup is controlled by and Apex but is not required. As mentioned if you raise the container from the floor of the basement and can go into a sump the actual head pressure needed is lower then what you would initially expect.

Get an ac float switch and a return pump with 15' of head pressure. I really like autotopoff.com

Although they are neither cheap not silent, my favored ATO pump for long runs of 1/4" tubing is the Avast diaphragm pump. Probably you could DiY one as well.
