So I have about 8' of 3/4" pipe with 1 90 and 4 45s, a ball valve and union going from my sump up through the floor to my display tank. I bought a sicce 5.0 return pump which seems to be too weak. I was looking at the

Syncra ADV 9.0 Water Pump.

Would this be a better option for the head pressure issue

8 feet of 3/4 inch pipe going straight up is very restrictive. I suspect that you’re going to have a hard time getting a good flow rate with any pump. If you can upgrade that to at least 1 inch or maybe even 1.25 or 1.5” pipe I think you would have better results.

What kind of flow are you trying to get. 8 Ft head pressure is a lot. Look at specs then go a little more.
Looks like the 10 would be safest bet

Also looking at the jebao dcp 15000. Looks like people have had good luck with those and head pressure

Just skip all of the in between and get a properly sized PanWorld, Iwaki or BlueLine. They are the best of breed basement pumps, period. You will get a decade of butt kicking reliability with no issues.

I have jebao dcp-20000 and a panworld ps250 as a backup for roughly 13' of head pressure with no issues
