The Swales Swissguard basslet caught my eye, and I ordered one online. I should have it in a couple days. But I am just now thinking more deeply about my impulse buy, and am wondering if I made a mistake. I have a pretty large black capped basslet in the tank (4+ inches). Will they get along? My black capped basslet made quick work of an orchid dottyback that I foolishly tried to introduce last month. At least I think the basslet was to blame, he was chasing the dottyback after I put him in, and he was nowhere to be seen the next day.

Maybe, Usually the different genus/species of basslets can't be mixed. Be ready to rehome someone if one is hiding all the time or you're seeing torn fins.

Im no expert in these two basslets, but I do have two basslets in my 60 gal. I have a royal gramma and a chalk basslet. The chalk is a fairly good size about 3 inches and they dont bother each other. I think its gonna be trial and error and just be ready to act if aggression is seen.
