Does anybody have any experience with putting a Royal gramma and a blackcap basslet in the same tank. I have a 32 bio cube. The gramma has been in the tank just came home with a blackcap basslet only thinking about it being reef compatible or not and I get home and it's not compatible with other basslets according to what I read. I can put it in my quarantine tank do you think that would be advisable?

In a small tank, basslets won't play nice together
Nothing wrong with putting him in as a mother tank as long as you keep in mind your intended use for that tank

2 basslets in a Biocube definitely would not be my first choice. If you had a 4-6 foot long tank it might work, but a 32 biocube doesn't offer much in the way of space for 2 fish that are fairly active and part of the same family. It also doesn't help that one is established and one is a newbie. If you do attempt it I would definitely do an acclimation box for the new basslet.

A blackcap and royal gramma will fight, but they can be kept with more distantly related basslets, such as chalk, Liopropoma species or assessors.

Give the royal gramma away and keep the black cap basslet :) I loved my black cap and especially my swissguard , cool little fish.
