Im a little late on my build thread, but ill start with the list of equipment I have chosen for my RSR 350.

I went ahead and purchased blue 3/4” PVC and started to dry fit the plumbing. The two gatevalves will be for Carbon and GFO.

You will need to order an adapter for the red sea return to replace the barb fitting on the stock return.

All the plumbing has been fitted and glued, test fitted all the equipment in the sump, attached the Kessil AP700 LED light. I had time to do a leak test and filled it up with tap water.

If you can, I'd suggest you replace the other plumbing as well. The red sea valve for the return to the sump is a real P.O.S.

During the leak test, I fiddled and got the stock valve to be silent, but yes I do agree the valve could be much better.

I bought about 80lb of reel reef rock and laid it all over my living room. I spent a good amount of time with my fiance coming up with an aquascape design. Using painters tape I created a rectangle that same size as the tank to dry scape it. DO NOT use Fluval Epoxy I scraped that idea it doesn't work very well, I just used gobs of super glue with accelerator that worked way better. Filled the tank with about 30lbs of medium sized crushed coral, this gave the tank about a 1" bed.

Tank was filled up with Fritz Blue box salt, all the equipment is connected and mounted to a wodden board that I cut to size. Protien skimmer has been running to break it in. Ive also bought a few boxes of marine pure spheres to add in the sump for biological filtration.

Here's my first attempt at using a acrylic divider to create an area for a refugium, I quickly realized the light spill from the Kessil A80 will create algae everywhere, so I decided to convert my ATO tank that comes with the RSR350 into a refugium by drilling out to holes for bulkheads that would be the inlet and outlet of the refugium.

Love that aquascape, you did well. What glue and accelerator did you use? Ive used in the past w/ mix results. Also did you use all 80lbs of reef rock? Trying to gauge what ill need for my reefer 350. I just ordered 40lbs of life rock shapes and 20 lbs of life rock.
