Hello guys! I am about to start setting up my 240 gal tank that's been sitting in my living room for months now. I currently have a 150 gal. The 240 has two overflow boxes with two returns and two drains each for a total of 4 holes under the tank for each box. It was suggested to me to do the bean animal overflow. My questions are as follows...

1. Would I have to cut out the existing overflow boxes?
2. Could I do a bean animal within my overflow boxes and still make it quiet ?
3. Does anyone reading this live in Dallas? :)

I have a bean animal and i had to have 4 holes drilled, 1 siphon, 1 durso, 1 emergency and 1 return.
u could have 2 siphons (one in each overflow),1durso and 1 emergency drain which in essence is the same principal as a bean animal and would produce no noise.
The only problem is the emergency drain would not handle the same amount of water as the two siphons and durso if they allblocked (highly unlikely).
You may not even want the emergency drain or need it depending on your setup and could use it as another durso (not sure if theres any point in 2 dursos though)

im by no means an expert so anyone feel free to shoot me down, just spitballing

Are the drains drilled through the back or bottom of the tank?

I'm from Mesquite :)
