Hey there! So I'm all about saving money, that being said, is it alright to do the bean animal style plumbing in the back but inside of an aquarium instead of using an overflow box? If so is there any major cons to doing so? I was thinking of drilling the back of the tank and ordering an in tank overflow rather than an exterior overflow.

There is no problem with what you describe, in fact it is what I did with my 220 (although inside-side, not inside-back, but same difference). My build thread should have some of those details.
