Ok so as of now in the 110 g aquarium 20lbs of live rock one piece is 9 lbs and the other 11lbs 80 lbs of live sand. Still running my fluval fx5, with blue cleaner pads, hydor 1500 gph power head. Live in the tank is 2 clowns, Snowflake eel that was a hitchhiker in one piece of live rock. I set up my sump refugium today but still running my fx5 for now. I paid 160 for the sump/refugium, cpr 90, pump, and light after looking online it didnt seem like a bad deal for all that that is brand new never used. I have placed my skimmer in the left chamber where water comes in from my cpr 90 and the middle only has live sand as of now and filter pad is in the flow chamber over to my pump just to keep bubbles and small debree out. My questions are what else do I need to include in my refugium chamber and also if I buy dry rock will it start my tank back cycling? If I buy dry rock will it need special treatment to be put in my tank or can I just add it. I see people talk about seeding it anyone have any comments on that and how. And also If I put the dry rock in will it turn darker like my cool piece of live rock I have already with purple color to it which I understand is coral algaa? As far as the refugium I have read some type of moss is good to put in and some live rock in it also. Here are some pics of my progress so far. Any thoughts or comments are welcome. Thanks guys for helping me get this far with it.
