Would a 8" maxima clam be good first clam? 5 month old tank, led lights

Depending if it's been raised in a tank or wild caught. Personally, I would recommend a derasa or even a squamosa for a first clam. Depending on how big the tank is, you might need a plan to rehome eventually

I would recommend a Derasa first. That maxima is wild caught unless it has been living in someones tank for years. If it is someone's old clam, then match the conditions and it may do fine.
