Hey everyone!
I've been around Reef2Reef for a while but finally decided it was time to start documenting what will probably be my biggest reefing project yet.
My girlfriend and I are currently building our first home in Michigan, and the entire unfinished basement has unofficially become my future fish room. The long-term plan includes a 537-gallon fish-focused display tank, a 200-gallon mixed reef, hundreds of gallons of quarantine systems, automated water mixing, and all the infrastructure needed to support them.
I'll be documenting the entire process here on Reef2Reef, from home construction and basement planning to plumbing, equipment selection, and hopefully showcasing plenty of fish along the way. If you're interested, I'd love to have you follow along in my build thread.
I've been keeping saltwater aquariums on and off since I was about 14 years old (I'm 27 now). After years of smaller systems, I currently maintain and cherish a 80-gallon SEAPORA shallow mixed reef that's been running for about two years.
Outside of reefing, I'm an aerospace manufacturing engineer who enjoys lifting weights, traveling, and spending time outdoors.
I'm looking forward to learning from everyone here, sharing both the successes and inevitable mistakes, and becoming a more active part of the community. Thanks for having me!
