Besides cheato, what other algea can i put in a algea reactor ?

Hello every one, try as i may i never had any luck with cheato. It never grew for me it ir died on me. So i was wonderi g is i can put a diffrent kind of aglea in my algea reactoe that i just set up ? I put a small piece of cheato in it and i had a good amount of ulva that was frowing on a frag plug. What are your thoughts on ulva or other kinds of algea ?

Ulva should be a fine alternative to chaeto if your having troubles growing other macros. This may or may not be the issue in your case; but from my experience, the most common reason why people have issues growing macro algaes is a lack of iron in the tank. There are iron and other trace element supplements that you could add that would correct this (I'd start slowly.. maybe 1/4 doses at first).

You could also try caulerpa in the reactor.. It grows pretty quickly as well.
