What is the best filtration add on for your sump. Just looking for ideas from more experienced hobbyist.


Bio spheres?
Filter floss ?
Live rock in sump?

100% live rock. Not the fake stuff either but real rock soaked in the Ocean for it's lifetime with all the goodies and baddies.

If you want mechanical, I like filter floss because no cleaning is required. If you want biological, then yes, rocks, alive is possible. But if you have enough in your display, you don’t really need more in the sump.
