Sony Nex-5n. Beginner DSLR but it is a point and shoot. Easily to use. DSLR quality photos.
Here are some images I took when I first started with this camera years ago:

These were shot on Auto before I learned about the aperture, iso, manual, and other functions of a camera. It just takes patience and stability.

Actually, and I only purchased it to have an inexpensive interchangeable lens camera to log the tank, but find myself using it all the time.. I don't know honestly, how it compares to the higher ended cameras these days(image wise), but I love it for how cheap it was off Amazon, but I have a Sony A3000.. And, lol, I'm only doing this for fun.. It's not completely metal like the higher ended models, but, it allows me to not only play with aqua photography and video, but also family and events.. Especially for the price..

The attached images are just out of the camera with no editing and stock lens..

And here is a video I shot a few days ago with it(i had the shutter speed a bit low on accident..Lol).. I have a camcorder, but I'm finding as I use the camera more, I hardly pull out the camcorder for video..

Yea in my experience any camera will take good pics as long as it has adjustability. It's the glass hanging off the front that makes the difference. I don't know much about macro lenses but I do know my dad has the nikon d5200? With some 1000 dollar lense on the front and the thing takes insane pictures.
Me I'm all about my fujifilm p&s and galaxy s5 lol.

I can't get the galaxy s5 to take a picture anywhere close to what the s2 does.

I like the nex5 as well it shoots in RAW and you can get a macro lens for it. Plus as small as it is you can bring it everywhere. Spend you money on the lens not the camera.

An iphone camera can take pictures well, ikr I was surprised too when I heard, for pictures under blues, if you hold up a piece of something orange and transparent in front of your camera, it'll look great

I didn't start with the Galaxy line until the 4 so I can't comment. I will say though that I feel the 4 took better pics. Makes sense with that logic that the 2 would be even better lmbo

I think my ipad mini takes better pics than my iphone 6 plus under blues. It may be that my lens on the phone needs to be wiped. idk

I use a Panasonic LumixGF3 with a zoom lens and extension tubes for macros ($30). It gets the job done, but I don't absolutely love it. I have Lightroom, but I usually just us the window software because I'm too lazy for Lightroom and I'm not very good at it. Plus, I'm not really striving for perfection.
