Depending on what spectrum of white light you get. Mine is 10,000K so alot of the colors gets washed out looking brown/pinkish/orange color. So far in my experience my orange ricordia yuma looks great under white light. A lot of zoas and paly hold their color great under white light. My favorite one is Rasta Zoa. Green torch with pink tips seem to held its green color more than the regular green on green torch. My gold torch and gold hammer just look brownish. Alot of the easier to keep Sps color nicely in white light. My favorite one so far is the yellow porites.
My best advice is also look for different textures or growth patterns for that coral with the color so they dont blend in too much and have the vendor turn the white light setting and youll be amazed of how many corals look totally different.
Im in a process of moving some corals in optimizing the color pattern.

Hi all,

I thought this would be an interesting topic to discuss - I'm thinking of setting up a small 10 Gallon Lagoon style tank sometime in the future, and my idea would be something very low tech and easy, but still very beautiful. I would do pure white lighting for this as part of the concept would be to blend into a living room aesthetic.

So that begs the questions - what are the absolute best looking corals under white lighting?

I know of a few such as the Koji Wada Pink Nepthea and Fiji Yellow leather, but I'd love to hear about more. I'm primarily looking at soft corals, but any LPS suggestions are welcome too.

Thanks!
A simple green torch looks great under white light. I also have a dark purple/black one with yellow tips but I don’t know the name of it. It also is fabulous under white light. Simple mushrooms are great too

Don;t bother at that size. imo 29g is the smallest I would go. Note: NO all in one Set Ups. I love leathers too. water movement is critical . Indirect.
