Best Fairy wrasse pair?

Looking to add some wrasses to my 125 mixed reef. Currently i have a lieutenant tang, 1 fire fish, 1 falco hawkfish, a pair of clowns, and a bicolor goatfish. would like a Melanurus Wrasse, an exquisite wrasse (looking for one from vanuatu), and some kind of pair. Looking for suggestions on the wrasses pair. What kind do you guys recommend?

This! Wrasses don't really pair. Two different males give you twice the variety and color!

But Scott's do not keep color; they fade out quite a bit.

Female flames are notorious for transitioning to male in a closed system, male present or not.

Skip the Scott's; see note above. Plus they are one of the most aggressive in the genus and don't always get along with other wrasses.

Ok thanks for the advice. Ive heard that its a bad idea to mix fairy wrasse and flasher wrasse is this true or could i put 1 or 2 flashers in the tank?

Not true; they mix just fine, provided you avoid a few aggressive fairy species.

My favorite is my rubrisquamis. I have 4 fairy wrasses in my 90. In pecking order: lineatus, rubrisquamis, solon (red headed), and a one eyed labouti. All male. Lots of rock work. Not too much aggression. Everyone knows their place :)

Mine was pretty timid but was noticeably more aggressive than the other wrasses.

But most importantly the color fades and they're not very stunning at that point

Take a look at the resources page on www.bluezooaquatics.com regarding flasher wrasses. They indicate that when adding two different species male flasher or fairy the males maintain there colors.
