Best hair algae cuc

I'm having issues with hair algae in my aquarium. I'm looking into an algae blenny either lawnmower blenny or algae blenny and urchins. I've read that urchins are finicky and can parish easily if not acclimated correctly.

I've read that lawnmower blennies don't eat algae. My next project is adding to my CUC. I have two snails in a 45 gallon. I'd love to have tang, but my aquarium is too small. I need assistants who will help me keep the aquarium clean in between weekly brushing of algae.

The next question is how do you add urchins to your aquarium? I've read here that you dump them directly in the aquarium and I have read here you drip acclimate them.

Tuxedo urchins, mexican turbo snails, tiger conch.
Urchins are salinity sensitive ime. To acclimate, i float in tank and do 20% water change every 15 mins or so, until salinity is close.

Hello! I agree with everything posted above. Tux urchins and Mexican turbos are my favorite gha cuc members. I added an urchin about the size of a nickel to my tank, and it has done more to dislodge gha than everything else combined. I also acclimate urchins to salinity

Algae is all my Lawnmower eats. Not a speck of fresh, frozen, or dried food. However, he won't eat hair algae as it's to bitter. Just turf. Tuxedo Urchins do a good job and are less discriminant. You need a lot of snails as they work slow.

Herbivorous fish are the best for algae control. Lawnmower blennies absolutely do eat algae. I have a lawnmower blenny and a small foxface and they keep my tank clear of algae. If your tank is big enough for these, this is the way to go.

I'd love a fox face, but I have a 45 gallon aquarium so it'll get too big for my aquarium too quickly. The same with tang. I'd like to have a tang but it'd grow too quickly.
