Best high/mid tank dweller?

Looking to add a mid or high tank dweller. What do you have that you love? Staying away from damsels, chromis, hawkfish, puffers. I have a 4’ 80g mixed reef tank.

I have: two clowns, a pintail fairy wrasse, a royal flasher, a springeri dotty, green mandarin, Midas blenny, white tail bristle tooth. Looking to get one or two more fish.

It's hard to define fish to "areas" of the tank like people do with freshwater fish as these all all reef fish that we keep and so are all locked to the rock work (vs being pelagic in the open ocean, which would be more "high tank")

Most fish that are not bottom dwellers will reside in the areas you want in the tank in one form or another.

Ok that’s good to know! I just wasn’t sure as most my fish stick to the bottom or near the rocks. The clowns are the most active by far lol

Of all the fish you already have, all but the wrasses do like to stay within/near the rock work.

The Tang will always have its eyes on the rocks to pick at algae, the Mandarin will surf along the rocks for pods, Dottyback will stay within its rock territory to defend, the clowns should stay within their hosted coral, etc.

The two wrasses should be more swimming, but might be a bit shy depending on how established they are.

I suggest adding two more flasher wrasses (males) so they are more active and flashing against one another.

The wrasse are brand new, in QT so they haven’t made it to display yet. The Royal is out and about, the pintail is shy so far

Get yourself like a male and a couple female anthias.

I'm on the anthias bandwagon too.
I would stay with all females.

Cardinals, PJ’s, threadfins, etc. the school and are peaceful.

I'd add 4 females with one male. The display the male puts on is fun to watch.

Swallowtail Angel. I have one in my 60×30. Always out in the open and reef safe.
My maroon clown is always out with no nem to hide in.
Anthias always on the move.
Cleaner wrasse always out. You can see it near the tail of the clown
