What is the best bang for the buck?
Must be touch screen and powerful yet affordable.
Its for my girlfriend, she likes photoshopping and playing and hacking the Sims games.
Its also for school so being reliable is a must.
She's looking at Dell but I dunno much about computers.
Thanks!!

+1 on Asus, take a shot at the Sony laptops. I don't much like dell gateway hp or emachines but most everything else isn't to bad. My little bro just got an Asus from new egg as well $500something and it's super nice. Not sure about touch screen laptops now adays but see if you can put photo shop on the new galaxy tablet, it is AWESOME! We have several kindle fires and I would prefer the galaxy to them.

haven't priced laptops in a while. might want to look at tablets too since these usually are touch screen. Only computers i see anymore are in the price range of luxury cars and the average home. toshibas are nice laptops but dunno if they make one with a touchscreen. Best thing is to shop around and compare price and specs.

We are. She has an iPad already but wanted something windows with a legit keyboard for typing and more control/options than a tablet. Touch screen is the worst for writing papers, trust me haha. I write 3000+ words a week easily and would probably be dead if I used a tablet. She hates writing so making it less inconvenient is key to keeping her grades up.

You may want to consider the Galaxy tablets, like the big ones because the keyboard docks are very inexpensive. They also are full sized and fully functional to multimedia purposed.

I had the 2 7.0 and it did not have the best power, but I used it as a portable little office and also ran photoshop touch on it. I like the note series overall for their power and s pen for graphic work.

Under 7, I'm not sure on a touchscreen that is going to be able to run photoshop really strong. It's going to depend on how she sets her scratch disc's. But your going to for sure want one with a ssd, a decent nVidia gpu (for the Cuda)and a good 8gb of ram. Of course you could get one with a decent nvidia card and just swap the drive and ram off the bat.

I just don't know how inexpensive you can get those things with touch even these days with machines being so cheap.

She's completely against a new tablet. She has the 32 gig iPad. I'll get the info and see what you guys think regardless lol.
