well, are you looking for the most expensive? The most controllable (custom spectrums and such)? or just the overall best lights with the best value?

My budget is around a $1000 for lights. Overall best lights with the best value would be great.

for overall best value with the best lights I recommend @SB Reef Lights

from there, with your budget you cant really do any better. a grand doesn't go far with lights on a 6 foot tank. but the next step up would be something like an AI SOL super blue but theyre about 400 a piece.

not a problem. what are you trying to grow specifically? SPS heavy? average mixed reef? deep water acros? softies? with this info I, as well as others, can help direct you towards the correct lights while attempting to stay in your budget.

when you switch to leds, youll have to start low and slowly ramp them up. it will take a bit for your corals to adjust. you may get a little die off first, but then growth will explode. then again, you may not get any die off. seems kinda random when I buy coral and it goes from t5 to led.
