Best light for sps only tank

Today my tank is powerd by ATI power module 10×54w T5's bulbs + kessil 360x tuna blue (2 unit's).
I simply like this lights , because of the perfect spread , high PAR readings and natural look to my SPS.
in the future ,when T5's will not produce anymore Its most likely that I go with Reefi or straton pro.

How'd you attach the LEDs to the ATI? I have an 8 bulb ATI Powder Module and the LEDs are going out. Super old unit but the T5s work wonderfully. I'd like to turn off the LEDs and add supplemental LED soon

Nah T5 and MH still are very relevant today, and produce results that not many LEDs can compete with.

I’ve used T5 myself for close to a decade (and previously used PLL which are basically T5x2 in one bulb) and always liked the brightness and spread they were able to achieve.

But fixtures like the Uno 2.0 and the Straton are game changers in my opinion, as they do provide great spread, lots of power and the ability to control the spectrum however you like it to be.

It is the wide spectrum range and excess of power for each channel that made that difference for me, because it made it possible for me to mimick the look and feel of a T5/MH hybrid over my frag tank, while still pushing 300-800 PAR bottom to top.

Why would I say T5/MH hybrid?
Because I’m able to get both real UVA and shimmer, which really does give that old school vibe that I always strived for but never had back in the day.

They are hanged around 19” above the water line on my frag tank, and 12” over my main system.

30x30 is an odd size, and at 8” above the water you’ll likely struggle to get even spread with a single fixture, even with 120deg reeflectors.

You can try to completely remove the reeflectors which should give you about 160deg spread and see if that helps, but ideally I would use 2 fixtures with 90deg reeflectors at a low wattage.

Best would be to contact Daniel Lu, the owner of ReeFi and see what he recommends for your specific setup.

Plenty if you use the 120° reflectors.the outsides might be a tad lower in par but not much.. I can tell you on Wednesday as I’m awaiting one for my frag tank. My display is running them but I have them together so I couldn’t tell you how much just one covers.. my frag tank is 24x24 and the reefi will be hanging on a rms arm which is 8” above the surface.

I just did that!

@nickng I just got it in and made a bracket to hang on the rms mount so I’m 8” above the water line. I have it at 30% intensity I’m hitting 350par in the center and around 200 on the outside edges of a 24x24 foot point. I am running the 90° reflector for now I’ll change it to the 120° when I get a little time and get some new numbers.. the very corners of the tank are showing 100ish
