So, I have a nicrew hyperreef on my tank. I would like to keep the light on for only a few hours per day with some sort of lower end timer. I also want to throw in some gsp or some sort of similar soft coral.
The tank is fish only right now and the focus is the fish. However, I want a reliable timer so that I can feel comfortable with gsp in there even if I forget to turn the light on for a day.

For a side note, is a white light spectrum fine for gsp?

I know that nicrew has an independent controller. I have it but havent set up yet so i cant say my personal opinion.

For a basic Wi-Fi timer, you can't go wrong with the Kasa plug in timers. There's also a controller for that light that will give you a little more control that's relatively inexpensive

I was hoping for a cheaper lighting timer but i have seen this as well. I have heard mixed reviews of it locally.

I have 2 of these, each controlling 150 watt gen 2s on separate tanks. They work well for what you want, and give more control of your light than the onboard buttons.
