best materials for diy hood? wood vs acrylic

I getting ready to build a simple hood for my 20 long which I plan to house my LEDs in. Does anyone have an opinion on best materials to use? Basically I'm just going to build a box but wasn't sure if look/function better using wook/acrylic/...

Yeah, that was an option but my welding skills are a bit shaky. Maybe I'll make a steampunk aquarium.

aluminum.... don't use acrylic it will warp...

Aluminum loves saltwater.

All my hoods and stands are made from aluminum... Works great as long as it is not submerged...
It's perfect for this application since it would work as a heat sink also for the LEDs....

aluminum is what I used build my canopy. It is light and sturdy.
