I'm sure you might get a better quote if you ask around, it doesn't hurt to try anyway. The issue with a sump that size is well.... it's size. It's not small atall which requires thicker material and obviously more of it. If it makes you feel a little better, the 46" x 20 x 15" sump I just ordered is landing around the $3500 mark

Personal experience with advanced acrylic. They are awesome to deal with. And excellent products.

I got my sump and fuge from them.

My overflow is modular marine. Which also is absolutely awesome.

+1 on modular marine and advanced acrylic. $3k seems crazy high for an all acrylic sump.

When you look at the size it's really not absurd to understand why it falls into that price point. Especially without knowing what features it has built in or if shipping was included. Custom anything can add up quickly cost wise.

I've got a custom sump that is 42x20x20 and I paid $450 here locally, chamfered edges, adjustable skimmer baffle, heater holders, cord management, covers for socks and return section.
He may shop around some and get some decent quotes.

Well you've got Advanced Acrylics, Synergy, Elite Aquatics, MRC, Lifereef, GEOs Reef just to name a few. Jeff at Lifereef will probably be the most reasonable price wise and his products are one of the best, there are a couple that will probably be a little more "flawless" but IMO you won't beat the price...
