how did you get that in there?" jobs....
Muscled it from the side.

I didn't get what you meant by "larger made out of PVC"?
Do you mean that you gonna build a larger sump out of PVC minus the sock?

My experience with trickle filters is that it's difficult to get any decent amount of water flow.

Well, I am not running the whole flow through it, it is running off of my smaller pump after the mechanical/micron, carbon, and UV. (see diagram)

Right, see my post here from yesterday. Thinking of having this company make me a sump, they mainly make aquaculture tanks and such.

One of the nicer glass sumps I’ve seen.

Thanks.
I have good hand and brain cells for fabricating aquarium. Glass sumps could be build like any other top acrylic manufacturers design. I wonder why glass aquarium fabricators in the USA haven't come up with this idea.

Probably because it’s limited to straight lines and holes. I imagine it’s hard to cut slots, waves, etc in glass. Plus silicone can be harder to work with than acrylic solvent I imagine.

When it comes to fabrication glass or acrylic or anything, nothing is easy nor hard. It all depends on various factors. In this age of technology glass isn't difficult to cut in any shapes and is not limited to striaght lines and holes. Silicone is a bit complicated to work with so is solvent or two part for acrylics.

Yo homes,
It's not what I meant.
There are plethora of options out there. Colored non colored, hybrids, PVC stuff etc. Selection is a matter of taste and pocket.
Know am sayin?

You just got me wondering why the high end custom sumps always seem to be acrylic or pvc? I rarely see someone get a custom glass sump unless they’re trying to save money.

Can glass be cut on a CNC router or similar machine?

It's not about saving money coz the option of high end glass sumps don't exist. High end custom glass sump could cost equivalent or more to an acrylic one. It's difficult to fabricate such systems coz alot of factors imply.

This is what a CNC looks like...

CNC stands for computer numeric control. So what is being controlled in that CNC pic? (Mill, router, lathe, etc)

All my comments were trying to answer your original question, but I think we both know why they don’t.

I didn't get what you mean by this. Maybe communication gap. English ain't my first language.

Thanks for defining CNC, the one in the picture is something similar to 5 axis VMC. Specialised for glass operations.

Looks like a business opportunity??
Unfortunately I'm not from the USA. From where I'm it's easier to sell people rather than these fancy sumps. LOL. It's not literally what I mean but something like figure of speech.
