I usually use my days off for any maintenance. Water changes, cleaning, replacing things, moving things, etc. Just more time usually. If needed, I will do during the week. Especially if I have any qt tanks on fish running. I shouldn't at this point on though. Fingers crossed.

I try to do small tasks every day so that a big chunk of time isn't required too often. When I do water changes, it's usually on the weekend.

I use Sunday as my maintenance day. It keeps me from fooling with the tank all week which is important for Stability. Unless its an emergency -the tinkering can wait until Sunday.

I work every other weekend, so I save as much as I can for just whatever day I have off. Honestly tho, I find it easier to not wait. Not yet. I'm still new to reefing and checking things daily and replacing polyfilter and emptying my skimmers, I only have HOB and surface, no sump. So doing things like checking the ATO water supply, and algae scrubbing is something I look forward to on an every other day basis

I have always done water changes on the weekend. I'll mix the water earlier in the week and let it age a few days before doing the change on the weekend. It like a Sat morning ritual for me - clean tank, change water, give everything a good look. All that with a cup of coffee and it's a good Sat morning.
I do the exact same thing every Saturday. I look forward to it.

Where I worked closed 12/31/2020 and now I'm doing tank chores whenever. It's a small 13 G Fluval so things go quickly.
Thinking of other things to do.

Right now I’m still cycling my reef tank, so still testing everything everyday and waiting. But Saturdays are water changes for my fresh tank and now salt too. I’m always topping off my ATO, sometimes I can skip a day (it’s a Waterbox sump so it’s too small).
Friday move RODI to salt Brute can and mix overnight. It’s not a smooth process yet so I’m happy to keep practicing before I add fish. And my Nitrites are just stuck off the chart anyway.
But I’m still eagerly looking forward to Saturday’s to do all this stuff.

TGIF!

The weekend is upon us and with the weekend comes relaxation, time spent with family, enjoying your tank and .................TANK TASKS??

Well if you have a full time job you might find it hard during the week to complete tank maintenance tasks so weekends are the best time to get them done. So today let's talk about what you do for your tank on the weekends and how your time is best utilized.

What are the best tank tasks to take on during the weekends and why? What do you do?

Weekend warrior....
I test during the week so the weekends are for heavy lifting.
Clean anything that needs it.
Make RO water for salt water changes and fresh water top offs
Clean socks - yes... I only do that on weekends, don't judge.
Stock up on supplies if needed.
Make soda ash or other dosing liquids if needed.
Work on plans for the new build.
