Big hole in my rhodactis!

I have had this mushroom for months and it has always been healthy and growing. Yesterday it was fine, today there is a big hole where the mouth was. Any ideas about what is going on?

@LRT Thoughts on this? I originally thought splitting but never seen one do it this way...

My Uranium and Earl bounce split this way. Most likely been splitting for awhile. Makes alot more dramatic when the cap finally decides to tear.
Found a picture of UB.
The foot split forever on it and then the mouth decided to pull away from itself. I'm pretty sure it split due to higher par stress.

Whatever is happening, it's happening quickly. This is how much bigger the hole has gotten since I made the original post a couple of hours ago.

To me in the first picture it looks like they were already fully split.

I bet it nearly or split today? Sometimes the feet on mine will start pinching first and tighten up in middle almost like figure 8 right before the mouth decides to seperate. When they do that it is pretty dramatic and can almost watch the cap tear when it decides to split apart.

I just got home and it looks like it is well on it's way, but not quite there yet!

Late to the party but definitely splitting from the mouth. Got a few Earl that do it on the regular.

Thanks. Mine has a big hole where the mouth was but the foot has been splitting for a while. It is half on and half off of a disc so that’s where it is slitting. Thanks again

My JF raunchy red does this all the time. Not even bothered, and often times I even cut them up to hasten the process

One in my tank just started today. It still amazes me that they rip themselves in half
