Torch With Hole in Skeleton, Something Growing?

Hello! I noticed something new while watching my tank after lights out. There's a huge hole in my torch LOL. It's in the skeleton luckily but I also noticed something is growing in it? Any ideas? The torch seems to be doing okay, fully extension and everything.

I'm wondering if maybe somehow it's growing into the hole? Not sure how I missed this while dipping but pretty sure I flushed it pretty cleanly with the dip

It looks like an egg mass and I'd be concerned. Are you able to take the torch out and scrape out the hole? Could you cut off that part of the skeleton?

Yeah I can definitely remove it luckily. Cutting may be hard, it's relatively close to the fleshband and I remember the skeleton being extremely brittle

Any idea what the egg mass may be? This is currently a coral and cuc (hermit and 1 margarita snail) only tank. I did have 2 sexy shrimp in there for about 3 hours before relocating them.

I dipped with Brightwell KoralMD. Did it for nearly the full 15 minutes max whilst blowing the dip though and around

Taking another look this morning, they're either very recessed or gone

Can you see anything on the torch? My initial thought were Euphyllia Eating Flatworms.
Are you able to turn the torch so the hole is facing the glass and take another picture?

Nothing that I can see but I'll continue to monitor. There was a moment where something questionable was on the torch while retracted but currently getting full extension. Would EEFW cause the torch the shrink or close?

Attached a photo below albeit a different angle. In this, you can't really see any black oddities although the cavity is obscured too but there is an off color blob right where the fleshband is low

Bivalve maybe? I had one once burrowing into the side of a lobo which was really pestering it and slowly dissolving it's skeleton.

No idea if what you are dealing with is actually one of these. I can't really see from pictures.

Yes, EEFW will cause it to close/delfate.
Can you turn it so we can see the hole?

I was thinking Messenterial filaments. Do torches have those?

Yea I would say that looks like filaments to me as well.

Hey y'all! Just wanted to follow up and say that I think it was messenterial filaments. I didn't get a chance to take photos but when I was doing some rearrangements, I took a look at the hole and it looked clean, not like eggs. Since the posting of this video, I also identified and dealt with some lighting issues and now the torches are back at really good extension with fleshband growing back down and expanding in a healthy way
