So another update .. The 75 tank build is going to become a 150 gallon build :) I just got the tank and new sump all cleaned up.. here’s the new tank. All that is left is to paint the back panel black, make new doors, repaint the stand then plumb it all up and move it inside! Hope to get that all done by the beginning of February.

So I was looking at buying a custom screen top because the fish I have in my tank are known to be jumpers. After looking at a few and then looking at the prices I figured I would make my own since we have a cnc machine at my shop ... I think they turned out pretty good. They are still drying but fit well .. what do y’all think ?

Well I had to move the 75 because we got new floors throughout the house so I took an opportunity to rescape and add a new friend (foxface rabbit) , the 220 is cleaned up but the sump is not so I’ll work more on it soon.

So, yesterday was my birthday and my beautiful wife took me to @WWC which is an awesome place to buy corals fish and pretty much anything you need. The staff was amazing and helpful beyond belief. They showed me the coral farm at the larger store, which is something that is hard to describe. I think that it must be seen in person. I was able to pick up one of the corals I have wanted since the first time I saw it in my LFS display tank it wasn’t at the superstore location but one of the employees called Tommy who was super helpful at their Winter park location and confirmed they still had the coral I was looking for. They did and also sent me with a great coupon for coral. So once I got to the winter park store I got my purple long tentacle plate coral!!!!i was also able to pick up an cool blasto at the big store and I used that coupon I got to get my first Lobo. So I’d say I had a great birthday and am running out of room in the 75 I really need to get the 220 up and running.

Quick update: I have added a few more corals and some more fish to the tank.. I was given my first sps corals from helping a friend move a clients tank. I also got some new leathers and zoas. I then talked the wife into letting me get a sailfin tang!!! I'm really happy with the progress and growth my tank is showing. I have been feeding a proper amount, doing regular water changes, and not tinkering with the tank as much. I have started posting a coral a day on my Instagram profile to document the progress my corals are making so go check it out and also help me name my corals! https://www.instagram.com/bigredbear14/

This is a sad update on my tank. I woke up Saturday morning and my tank was completely empty and fish were on the sand bed. My 220 gallon had busted a bottom seam. I was able to throw a few fish and most of my corals in the sump because it still had water in it. I had my friend rush over and bring 80 gallons of water and a 150 gallon pond. we transferd everything still alive to it. After cleaning the water the next question was what to do. I'll update more when I can get all the pictures sorted out.

So I realized I have Posted a lot of pictures of the tank and live stock but have not talked much about what is in the tank or the specs of the tank. The tank was purchased at World Wide Corals, @WWC in Orlando. It is a WaterBox Aquarium Peninsula 7225. It features the following

  • Starphire Ultra-Clear Glass
  • Ready to Assemble, No Glue Plumbing
  • All Glass Sump System
  • Includes Filter Socks and Sock Silencers * I use the mesh filter socks easier to clean.
  • UV Coated Plywood Cabinet
I included a link at the bottom if someone wants to look up the actual specs and more options of the Water Box tanks.

I use the sump that came with the tank. I added two mesh filter socks on top to the two that came with the package because I don't like using the regular cloth socks. They are a pain to keep clean. I only have three two things in my sump.

- Reef Octopus Regal 200ss Protien skimmer
- Tunze Osmolator Universal 3155 Auto Top Off
- Return Pump* cant remember the model and brand right now but strong as crap

For lighting I use 2 Older Model AI prime 16HDs and one Hydra 32 which is pretty new. I'm saving up for 2 or three more hydras.

I used live rock from the previous tank but new sand to start this tank off ( about 120 lbs of rock and 80lbs of sand is my guess. I do not remember.

My stock is a mixed reef

For fish I have
- Yellow Watchman Goby
- Sailfin Tang
- Yellow Tang
- Yellow eye Kole Tang
- Yellow Foxface Rabbit
- Male Lyretail anthias
-Purple Flame Goby
- 2 Clowns * nothing fancy just normal
- Cleaner shrimp
- Blood Shrimp
- Pistol Shrimp
- multiple blue legs hermits
- one large red leg type that came with the blue legs
- a mussel
- Turbo Snails
- Nassarius Snails
- emerald crab
- Red Bubble tip Anemone
- Borneman Anemone

For Corals

- Green Star Polyp (on rock island)
- Multiple types of zoas and Palys * see Pics
- Tri- color Frogspawn
- green and purple frogspawn
- Purple Hammer
- Green Hammer
- neon green Trumpet
- Green Cabbage Leather
- green Toadstool Leather
- regular Toadstool Leather
- Devils hand Leather
- Green Finger Leather
- Neon Green Short Plate
- Purple Long Tentacle Plate coral
- Seasons Greeting monti
- Red Monit
