I bought my Hanna Salinity Checker on 8/7. The tester had been working great until it suddenly stopped working this Tuesday. When I opened the battery compartment, I noticed corrosion and discoloration on the battery and battery cover, suggesting possible moisture intrusion. I replaced the battery, but the tester still wouldn't turn on.
I went to the local coral store where I purchased the checker, and they suggested I contact Hanna directly. I sent Hanna an email that same day. Their support team replied right away and asked for the serial number and my shipping address.
I just received the replacement unit today! That's great customer service!
By the way, with regular calibration, the Hanna salinity checker has been great and very accurate. I do have a refractometer as a backup and reference.
