Your tank is looking good! What lights are you running on your tank?
I have a a sting ray 2 and we supplement with a red and blue plant light during day with the stingray. Reason is sting ray has fewer blue leds and no red and we have macro algae and our anenome seems to love it

I am at a loss i just don't know maybe just let the tank go and stop worrying idk. My anenomes where great now ticked did a level test my nitrates are like 180ppm. We did a 20% water change and nothing still high i have macro algae in the display my toadstool and gsp are fine and happy fish are fine. I just don't know what to do I did add a nitrate filter medium to filter and will recheck tomorrow but I don't think my nems will make it Any help is great

Well, quick update 2 of our anemes did not make it no matter what we did. We have one baby bubble tip that just seems to be thriving floating around in the column. Eating and is happy. Just choosing not to stick anywhere. We did add in a war coral and a green chalice coral. Those seemed to be doing fine. We were also gifted A Gonipora or flower pot, which we are direct feeding. As for livestock, the only new additions are a bicolor plenty and a coral beauty. I will be attempting pictures tonight with my actual camera. For some updates

I love the colored stones on your sandbed. You dont see them very often in marine tanks. And with just a scattered handful, they look like fruity pebbles.

I would recommend you get ahold of a par meter. Buy one, or I was able to barrow one from my LFS. It will really help keeping your corals happy and knowing where to place them.

I'm a bit more cautious because I'm trying to stay on a budget, but personally I'd start slower with the coral, until you were maybe 2 or 3 months out. And I'd wait for anemes until 6-9 months of consistent parameters. You'll see examples of people who load thier tank sucessfully on day one, but it you look deeper you typically see they have real ocean live rock or years of experience. The safe play when you're newer is to go slow. It will save you a lot of the cost of livestock and and the discouragement and frustration that has begainers leave the hobby. Every tank is individual and a closed system. So there are so many vairables that are unique to you and your tank. It helps to get them figured out and consistent before you really drop the $$

Thank you the kids wanted colored rocks i am not a fan but it was a small compromise :) we did do a par test top third is around 100 while lower third is 50 and middle 75 so not great for high par corals. We definitely learned with the anenomes that is for sure we have one thriving but lost two. Luckliy i dont have much invested in corals as most have been gifts from local reefers that just cut from their grown colonies. We have seen growth in the softies and green chalice and war others we where gifted tonight i dont have high hopes for the sps but he said give a try because it does well in his tank in low par. But i will always take all the advice I can get
