I've ordered a reactor and Eco Bak. How long should I stop vodka dosing prior to installing the reactor?

If you decide to run BP and your nitrates is up there. You can do stop for a few days and run maybe 3/4 dosage of BP to begin with.

But a few question need to answer. How long have you been dosing Vodka and what is your nitrates and Phos level? My main concern here is if your vodka dosing is working for you and nitrates is now. B-Pellets take longer before they fully populated. If your nitrates is low, you might need to feed more often to bring up the nitrates to feed the pellets. While vodka will have big effects on phosphate, B-pellets have very little in phos reduction.

I've been dosing vodka and Special Blend a little over a month. No difference seen yet. Nitrates checked Sunday and they were at 30. Phosphates are at .10. I read on the BP information that if nitrates are high, start with 1/4 dose and gradually add so I plan on doing that. I've had my carbon/GFO reactor off line for about a month and numbers are creeping up. I thought BP would keep phosphates under control as well.

I think I'm going to start the carbon/gfo reactor back up tonight.
