Pickup a used biocube 14 gal and wondering what type of return pump and filtration I would need for this tank. Maybe wave maker as well or too small for one.

Thanks

You may want to look at the Sicce 1.0 or similar for the pump. Also, take a look at the build thread section and search for other bio-cubes for inspiration. Good luck with whatever you choose!

I recently had to replace my return pump on my 14g biocube. I picked up a cheap one on Amazon:

DOMICA 220 GPH Ultra Quiet Fountain Pump, Small Submersible Pump (15W 800L/H) for Pond, Water Feature, Aquariums, Hydroponics, Indoor or Outdoor Fountain https://a.co/d/9wuhMot

Only $15. It's a little stronger than the original pump.

Here is the original pump:

Coralife 14 BioCube Replacement Pump https://a.co/d/49YZV3l

Also I'm using this wave maker:

hygger Mini Wave Maker Magnetic DC Powerhead with LED Display Controller for Saltwater Tank, 1600 GPH Aquarium Water Circulation Pump 5 to 30 Gallon, Black https://a.co/d/iR89Mt4

I have bioballs in the very bottom of the second chamber and I only run filter floss through the first chamber with the heater. I also have ATO sensor in return chamber at the max water line.

Best of luck with your new tank!

Thank you. How about filtration?
In my 20 I run 3 baskets, 2 eheim substrate pro and 1 matrix.
Carbon and po4 reducer when needed.
I also run a diy air driven slimmer.
I have an icecap nano for the 15 but its not up yet.
The 20 is all live rock from my other systems.
Was working on system today and its now ready for growout phase.
Tank is 3 1/2 months old.
Just took these.
Still dialing in the K7. Its full sps program from noopsyche.

Also, I’m sure you’re more than aware but if you picked up a used tank I would definitely run a water holding test on it first. Fill it up with water and watch for leaks before you stock anything

For my Biocube 32g , I based much of my filtration on the YouTube video: Coralife Biocube Basics, simple filter modifications. I hope it helps.

I’ve tried a lot of mods, went rimless, built a custom hood for my AI 16HD. Best mod I did was 14g intank divider. I tried to make my own DIY for like 6 months and it never worked lol. Finally pulled the trigger.

Hello, I have the 14gl bio cube and intrigued by this divider you mentioned… As in where it’s at and how it works?

Is the DOMICA pump quiet? The pump on my biocube makes an annoyingly loud buzzing noise
