Biocube 16 questions

Hey everyone! I hope this isnt too out of place,

Im trying to help out my mother long distance. She picked up a 16g biocube that the seller advertised as only being "a few weeks old", but the lid is giving me doubts.

The hood does not seem to match the tank, pins dont line up. Im thinking it may be an older oceanic biocube with a replacement coralife hood? Mainly just curious, just trying to see if she had been misled.

$100 a resonable price for this tank?

I know this is a reef forum, but what changes would need to be made to convert to a freshwater shrimp tank? She is thinking neocardinia. Im sure i could figure it out if i were there, but she and the tank are 3,500 miles away and ive never been around a biocube.

I have a 4 year old biocube. My tank is different - it doesn't have those ridges on the black plastic right at the top. Also, the QC sticker on the back is oval and this one looks like a rectangle.

If the tank isn't scratched, I think $100 is a fair price.

I don't think you need to change much to make it into a FW shrimp tank. Maybe install a mesh or foam block behind the overflow to keep small shrimp from going over the weir?
